IMAGINE THERE IS NO CONSUMERISM
There is no Planet B
For this year’s edition of The Digital Decade, I’ve been invited to reflect on the matter of the current day and situation in terms of human-based impact and by means of artistic expression to complete the sentence: ’’ There is no Planet B - Imagine there is no…’’ I’d like to imagine a world driven by the creative potential, not by the constant need to devour and consume.
By mixing and glitching elements, representing mass-consumption, making their presence in the artwork inconspicuous, I have given them a new meaning- to co- exist solely for the purpose of recreating a new aesthetic world.
Anthropomorphic structures tainted by mass consumption are driven to the core of the artwork, representing the ever changing nature of our world. Egocentricity and greed are washed away and what remains is woven into the fabric of a new culture, celebrating art and aesthetics for all mankind.
