IMAGINE THERE IS NO GENDER ISSUES
"I always find it difficult to work strictly topic-bound and I knew I had to let go a little to be progressive and to create something naturally. I imagined if there wouldn't be gender issues, we would all be universal. I imagined how this creature would look and how male and female would emerge. I always liked to create metamoprhoses, to start from something human and to end with something new that intrigues me.
I used the sleeping hermaphroditus from Italian artist 'Bernini' as a reference. It's a beautiful and inspiring piece of art that makes you wonder.
My creature radiates calmness, serenity and strength. It is my visual translation of the myth and the question I needed to solve."
